Rodon Biologics is a biotech CRO/CDMO with 20 years of experience, operating in the Lisbon region of Portugal. We support recombinant protein biopharmaceutical programmes producing small amounts of product for early-stage research, through cell line and process development up to GMP production for clinical trials.

We are looking for a skilled Upstream Scientist for a full-time, on-site role in Oeiras (Lisbon region) to develop, optimize, and monitor cell culture and fermentation processes, ensuring high-quality protein production.

What you’ll do:

• Plan and optimize cell culture and fermentation processes.
• Perform protein characterization and bioassays using techniques like ELISA, SDS-PAGE, and flow cytometry.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration across projects.
• Maintain lab equipment, reagents, and quality standards.

What we’re looking for:

• Degree in Biochemical engineering or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with bacterial, yeast, and/or mammalian cell cultures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of upstream bioprocesses and process optimization.
• Team player with attention to detail and a results-driven mindset.
